Year I. Energy and Consciousness

The first year will introduce the students to the concepts of energy and consciousness and their interplay/interdependence in supporting life as a psychotherapy foundation.  In addition, the curriculum will address segmental blockages and muscular armoring. Characterology will be presented as a key to understanding developmental issues as well as a basis for diagnosing and healing emotional stuckness. Participants will be guided to develop ease in observing energetic shifts and in being willing to work with the energy to facilitate change. This year will also present the concept of Lower Self, Higher Self and Mask, and will help students to understand how their own mask prevents them from living life in full accordance to their inherent potential.

Requirements during academic year:

  • In-person attendance to class sessions during each module.

  • Completion of homework in between each module.

  • 20 Process work sessions with a Core Energetics therapist or with a Body Psychotherapist.

Year II. Techniques

The second year will invite students to start practicing working with the individual character defenses. Participants will be taught basic Core Energetics techniques which will enable them to help the client experience shifts in energy and consciousness. They will develop skills which will enable them to work with the removal of energetic blocks by directly addressing muscular armoring, breathing, and conceptual misconceptions.  They will also start understanding and working with the shadow self,
which will enable them to help clients out of attachment to early defensive structures. The work will be supplemented by an exploration of ego development as well as the continuation of the student’s exploration of their own movement out of mask and into the acceptance of feeling all their feelings.

Requirements during academic year:

  • In-person attendance to class sessions during each module.

  • Completion of homework in between each module.

  • 20 Process work sessions with a Core Energetics therapist or with a Body Psychotherapist.

Year III. Integration

The curriculum of the third year is focused on helping the students integrate their understanding of character defenses with their developing willingness to address the spiritual dimension of the client's journey. Trainees will continue exploring ways of inviting the client move past identification with the child self, and defenses, to the uncovering of the intentionality to stay in separation from the Life Force, which will then allow them to create their life from the Core of their being. In this year there will also be an exploration of sexuality and its relationship to emotional and spiritual wellbeing. In addition to this integration and the support of the trainees in putting into practice the skills they have developed so far, the curriculum will also begin to cover the clinical aspects of the work, such as "touching the client" and its support of, as well as interference with transference; transference and counter transference, treatment planning and assessment. During this year students will begin to give sessions, and they will receive supervision for practice session.

Requirements during academic year:

  • In-person attendance to class sessions during each Module

  • Completion of homework in between each Module

  • 20 Process work sessions with a Core Energetics therapist or with a Body Psychotherapist

The work will go deeper in understanding, and dealing with transference and counter transference; freeing the lower self to reach the Core; developing a therapeutic plan; supporting the client in developing a life plan by embracing the Reality of Self.
